专利说明:

certain minimum width of the bed. In order to achieve the largest possible cargo space on a vehicle with a certain permitted length, the truck manufacturers reduce the vehicle cab as much as possible. In order to provide a vehicle cabin with the shortest possible length and at the same time have a bed with the required width for good sleep, beds have been used, where it has been possible to change the width from a larger width that allows good sleep to a smaller width that allows rest or the bed is used as a storage place. The mattress of the bed has consisted of a main part which covers the smaller width of the bed when it is in the retracted position and at least one insert part which is placed in the bed when it has the greater width in the extended position. When changing the width of the song, the width of the mattress has been increased or decreased by placing the mattress insert parts in the bed or removing it from the bed. Storage of inserts is a problem.
Brief description of the invention The object of the invention is to provide a mattress which makes it possible to change the width of a bed from a width, for example a larger width in an extended position, to a width, for example a smaller width in a retracted position, without that some parts of the mattress need to be handled, or that some greater force is required when the width of the bed is to be reduced and that the bed can be used in both extended and retracted positions.
This is achieved by the mattress along at least one of the sides which are in the longitudinal direction of the mattress being provided with recesses, so that when the width of the song changes from an extended position to an inserted position, the material in the mattress between the recesses is compressed or compressed and deformed.
Brief Description of the Drawings With reference to the accompanying drawings, a more detailed description of some exemplary embodiments of the invention follows. Fig. 11 is a section through a second variant of the mattress along the line A-A, Fig. 11 is a top view of a mattress with round recesses, 12 a top view of a mattress with elliptical recesses and fi g. 13 a top view of a mattress with rhombic recesses.
Detailed description of preferred embodiments The drawings show a vehicle cab, for example a truck cab (10) with a driver's seat (11), a steering wheel (12) and a bed (13) in a very schematic form as neither the truck, the bed design nor the bed attachment to the truck cab forms part of the invention. Figure 1 shows the bed (13) in the extended position as it has an internal width B1. The bed (13) can preferably be hingedly attached to the truck cab (10) so that the space under the bed (13) is easily accessible, the frame (14) of the bed (13) being attached to a guide device (15) mounted on the wall of the truck cab (10). . A mattress (16) is placed on the frame (14) of the bed (13). The mattress (16) has a length (L) corresponding to the length of the bed (13) and a width (B) corresponding to the width B1 of the bed (13) in the extended position. To make it possible to have the bed (13) in the extended position, the driver's seat (11) has been moved to a position very close to the steering wheel (12) of the vehicle.
When the truck is to be driven, the bed (13) is pushed to the retracted position as it has an internal width B2 and the driver's seat (11) can then be moved to a position suitable for driving the truck as shown in Figure 2. With the smaller width B2 of the bed, the length of the vehicle's cab is reduced.
The frame (14) of the bed (13) may, for example, consist of two parts and be designed so that an outer part (17) can be slid over an inner part (18), where the outer part (17) has a raised edge (19). which holds the mattress (16) in place. The outer part (17) and the inner part (18) can be locked relative to each other in both the extended position of the bed and in the retracted position of the bed.
As the space in a cab is very limited, it is important that the measures that must be performed when a bed is to be used or not used are as small as possible and that the force required to move the bed from the extended position to the retracted position is as small as possible.
A common material used in mattresses is foam plastic, such as Flexible Uretancellplast PUR, which provides a comfortable mattress to lie on. Foam plastic is a porous material that is compressed under load. However, in order to compress a larger volume of foam plastic, a relatively large force is required.
The mattress (16) on the bed (13) has a width B which is equal to the width B1 of the bed in the extended position and in order to move the bed (13) to the inserted position it is necessary to compress the mattress (16) along the entire length L of the mattress (16). Due to the amount of foam that must be compressed, a large force is required, which can only be achieved with mechanical aids, which results in a complicated and expensive construction.
By providing the mattress with recesses (20), for example along a side which is in the longitudinal direction of the mattress (16), the amount of foam in the mattress (16) which must be compressed is reduced, which means that the force required to move the bed (13) from extended position to retracted position is reduced. Figure 3 shows an embodiment where the recesses (20) are substantially at right angles to the side of the mattress (16) which is in the longitudinal direction of the mattress (16). With the design shown, the required force can be reduced to about one third of the force that would be required if the mattress (16) was without recesses (20). The material of the mattress (16) between the recesses (20) is fused together.
To further reduce the required force, recesses (21) may be arranged at an angle to the side of the mattress (16) which is in the longitudinal direction of the mattress (16) as shown in Figure 4. With recesses (21) at an angle to the side of the mattress (16) which is in the longitudinal direction of the mattress (16), the force required to move the bed (13) from the extended position to the retracted position can be further reduced. The reduction is obtained by compressing the material in the mattress (16) between the recesses (21) as well as changing shapes and then at least partially filling in the recesses (21) when the bed (13) is moved from the extended position to the inserted position as shown in Figure 5. .
It is difficult to give the mattress (16) the properties sought with recesses (20, 21) in the long side of the mattress (16). In order to reduce the force required to move the bed (13) from the extended position to the retracted position, the maximum amount of material between the recesses must be minimal and in order not to reduce the comfort of the person lying on the bed (13), the recesses (20, 21) must not be too big.
In order to provide as little force as possible for moving the bed (13) from the extended position to the retracted position while maintaining comfort for the person lying on the bed (13), recesses (22) can be arranged in rows at a distance from the side of the mattress. (16) which is in the longitudinal direction of the mattress (16) where the material between the recesses (22) is minimized.
In order not to affect the properties of the mattress (16) unnecessarily much, for those lying on the mattress (16), the dimensions of the recesses (22) need to be limited. Recesses (22) with a diagonal dimension greater than 100 mm affect the comfort of the person lying on the mattress ~ 4 ~ (16), so it is preferable that the recesses (22) have a diagonal dimension that is less than 100 mm. By arranging the recesses (22) in rows, a larger compression can easily be obtained without the force required for the compression becoming unnecessarily large. A bed (13) for good sleep needs to be about 800m mm wide and a bed (13) for rest can, for example, be 650 mm. Thus, in such an arrangement, the mattress (16) needs to be compressed 150 mm, but in some cases a compression of 200 mm may be required.
In the case of minor reductions in the width of the bed (13), a row of recesses (22) along one of the sides of the mattress (16) which are in the longitudinal direction of the mattress (16) may be sufficient. When larger reductions in the width of the song (13) are desired, the recesses (22) can be arranged along the two sides of the mattress (16) which are in the longitudinal direction of the mattress (16) or in a number of rows along one of the sides of the mattress (16) which is in the longitudinal direction of the mattress (16). In a preferred embodiment, the recesses (22) in adjacent rows are offset from each other as shown in Figures 6. With offset rows, the amount of material between the recesses (22) can be reduced to a maximum. Figure 7 shows a section through a part of the mattress (16) with continuous recesses (22) when the mattress (16) has full width B1 and Figure 8 the same section of the mattress (16) when the mattress (16) is compressed to the width B2, the recesses (22) has been mainly filled with materials. The recesses (22) can be made when the mattress (16) is made or can be easily made, for example by punching.
To improve the comfort of the person lying on the bed (13), recesses (23) can be made from the lower side of the mattress (16) and do not pass through the mattress (16) but leave a layer (24) of material at the upper surface of the mattress (16). , so that the mattress (16) for an unbroken upper surface shown in Figure 9. Such a design entails increased production costs and will require a slightly greater force when the song (13) moves from the extended position to the retracted position. To give the mattress (16) an attractive appearance, it can be covered with a cover.
In a special variant shown in Figure 10, the mattress (16) may have recesses (25) from the upper surface of the mattress (16) and corresponding recesses (26) from the lower surface of the mattress (16), a layer of material (27) preventing air can flow through the mattress (16).
The recesses (22, 23, 25, 26) can have many shapes, for example they can be round as shown in figure 11, elliptical as shown in figure 12 or rhombic shown in figure 13. The lowest force to move the bed (13 ) from the extended position to the retracted position is obtained if the recesses (22, 23, 25, 26) have an elliptical or a rhombic shape, so that one of these shapes is preferred. Although the invention has been described with reference to some preferred embodiments, the mattress may be modified in a number of ways within the scope of the inventive concept as presented in the appended claims.
